In order to detect the aerodynamic instability of a multistage axial compressor more accurately and earlier, the harmonic Fourier mean amplitude analysis method and heterotopic variance analysis method are developed. The dynamic instability prediction performance of the two methods is studied on a low-speed and a high-speed two-stage axial compressor. The harmonic Fourier mean amplitude analysis method is suitable for predicting the aerodynamic instability of a multistage axial compressor in the form of a rotating stall. Compared with the traditional harmonic Fourier analysis methods, the harmonic Fourier mean amplitude analysis method can capture the detail of the pressure signal more accurately and it can effectively prevent instability misjudgment. The heterotopic variance analysis method is developed based on the conventional variance analysis method, and it can be used to distinguish whether the compressor is in the rotating stall or the surge state. The heterotopic variance analysis method can predict the aerodynamic instability ahead of the harmonic Fourier mean amplitude analysis method, and fewer circumferential measuring points were employed. The layout of the measuring points also influences the detection of the aerodynamic instability of the compressor. A dual-sidestay landing gear is prone to locking failure in the deployed state due to the restriction of movement between two sidestays. However, the principle of its locking movement still remains unclear. The present study is aimed at investigating the synchronous locking performance of the dual-sidestay landing gear based on the singularity and bifurcation theory. From the perspective of the kinematic mechanism, the reason for high sensitivity to structural dimensions in the locking process is explained, and the locked position is investigated by employing the numerical continuation method in the case of a singlesidestay landing gear. Afterwards, the reason for the locking failure of the dual-sidestay landing gear is analyzed, and a kinematic optimization method for the synchronous locking is proposed. The results reveal that the lock links must reach the lower overcenter singular point to fully lock the landing gear, and the singular point is sensitively affected by structural parameters. Owing to the different positions of singular points, the movements of fore and aft sidestays seriously restrict each other, causing locking failure of the dual-sidestay landing gear. The singular points of two sidestays can be optimized to be approximately identical, making their movements more coordinated....
Complex transportation systems often produce combined exposure to aircraft and road noise. Depending on the noise source, the annoyance response is different, and a masking effect occurs between the noise sources within the combined noise. Considering these characteristics, partial loudness was adopted to evaluate noise annoyance. First, a partial loudness model incorporating binaural inhibition was proposed and validated. Second, short- and long-term annoyance models were developed using partial loudness. Finally, the annoyance of combined noise was visualized as a map. These models can evaluate the annoyance by considering both the intensity and frequency characteristics of the noise. In addition, it is possible to quantify the masking effect that occurs between noise sources. Combined noise annoyance maps depict the degree of annoyance of residents and show the background noise effect, which is not seen on general noise maps....
The size distribution of condensed products during the combustion of aluminized propellants and flow characteristics of the gassolid two-phase flow in solid rocket motor were studied in this paper. Firstly, based on the laser scattering technology, an online detection system for condensed products in plume was established, and the size detection of condensed products in the plume of solid rocket motor is carried out. Secondly, a numerical model of two-phase flow in solid rocket motor is established by combining the real size distribution of products in the plume with discrete phase model through the Rosin-Rammler distribution function. Besides, numerical simulation research is carried out under the same experimental conditions, focusing on the influence of condensed products with real size on the characteristics of solid rocket motor. The results show that the innovation measurement system can be used to obtain the size distribution characteristic of condensed products in the plume. At the particle size of stable stage, the mean size, Dv ð50Þ, is 104 μm, which is the smallest among all stages. It is also suggested that condensed products at the end stage have the most impact on the flow behavior in solid rocket motor, in that the shock structure, Mach number, and temperature distribution in the near field of plume are significantly changed....
To investigate the influence factors of propellant grain integrity under the internal pressure, the cylindrical grain was equivalent to a thick-wall cylinder and its three-dimension stress-strain problem was solved. Under the internal and external pressure, the strain and displacement equations of the inside thick-wall cylinder were expressed, and then, the stress and strain expressions of grain were obtained. On this basis, the hoop strain equations on the inside surface of the cylindrical grain and case were developed. The hoop strain on the inner surface of the grain can be predicted by the hoop strain of the case cylinder via the strain equations, and therefore, the hoop strain in the inner surface can be indirectly monitored in real time during the working process of the motor. The hoop strain in the inner surface of grain can be effectively reduced by increasing the case stiffness or decreasing the m number of the grain....
